A publicist for Lady Gaga confirms the dissolved deal: "Lady Gaga and Target came to a mutual decision to end their overall exclusive partnership a few weeks ago," the publicist said in a statement via e-mail.
Target came under fire by LGBT activists last year when it was revealed the discount store chain had donated corporate funds to MN Forward, a political action committee that supported antigay candidate Tom Emmer in his failed 2010 run for governor of Minnesota.
Last month Gaga discussed the decision to partner with Target with Billboard magazine.
"That discussion was one of the most intense conversations I've ever had in a business meeting," Gaga told the music publication. "Part of my deal with Target is that they have to start affiliating themselves with LGBT charity groups and begin to reform and make amends for the mistakes they've made in the past ... our relationship is hinged upon their reform in the company to support the gay community and to redeem the mistakes they've made supporting those [antigay] groups."

Lady GaGa: "I Love Adele"
Lady GaGa has revealed that she "loves" UK songstress Adele.
GaGa, whose new single Born This Way has been held off the top spot by Adele's stunning track Someone Like You, has praised the 21-year old star, calling her "wonderful."
When speaking to Radio 1's Greg James about which musicians she rated, the Poker Face hitmaker singled out the East London singer, claiming: "I love so many wonderful artists, I love Adele."
"I think Adele is wonderful and I'm so excited at the success she has had over the past couple of weeks with the Brits and everything. It's so wonderful."
Lady G, real name Stefani Germanotta, added: "I love so many people! Obviously it's no surprise that I love Elton [John] and the Pet Shop Boys as well."

Lady Gaga Producer Calls 'Judas' Playful With A 'Serious Message'
'It's about sometimes not choosing the right choice,' says Fernando Garibay, who has heard second Born This Way single.
Lady Gaga fans are still reveling in the eye candy that is her "Born This Way" video, which dropped on Monday. But they're also eager to hear more songs off the May album release of the same name, and that includes her second single, "Judas."
Fernando Garibay, who co-produced many of the tracks on Born This Way,stopped by MTV News a few hours after the video debuted and dished what the second club banger from the album will sound like.
"Judas is produced by RedOne and Gaga, obviously, and it's a statement about, again I can't speak for her, but what I gather is it's about sometimes not choosing the right choice," he teased, adding, "But you can't deny that the choice is not a part of you and who you are."
Like "Born This Way," "Judas" will have fans dancing. And while "Born This Way" harks back to the club tracks of the '90s, Garibay explained that "Judas" is a more traditional Gaga tune.
" 'Judas' is a dance song, definitely," he said. "I think 'Judas' in the traditional RedOne/Gaga vein. It's great because it's a serious message, it's a little playful, but still serious, but still somehow you wind up dancing to it. That's what's great about her music. You know, like, my favorite songs of all time, dance songs, 'Billie Jean,' is a story you wouldn't think of singing but then you wind up dancing and singing the lyrics. I think that's the holy grail of music for me, which is dance."
Gaga has commented on the track in radio interviews, sharing what inspired the song.
"It's about always falling in love with the wrong man over and over again," she said recently. " 'Judas' is a very, very dark song. It's rad."
RedOne has also been keeping fans on their toes about the song, saying, "It's gonna shock. You're gonna be surprised and wanna go crazy."

Lady Gaga explains 'blood and semen' content in new perfume
Lady Gaga has explained the 'blood and semen' content in her new fragrance.
"It was taken out of my own blood sample, so it's a sense of having me on your skin," she told Australian radio hosts Kyle and Jackie O, according to Fashionista.
In January, the pop star caused a fracas when she said she wanted her new perfume to smell like "blood and semen."
"I wanted to extract the feeling and the scent of blood and semen from molecular structures, so that's where that [report] came from," the New York Daily News quoted her as saying.
"[Blood and semen] is in the perfume but it doesn't smell like that - you just get the after-feeling of sex from the semen and the blood is primal.
"The perfume smells like an expensive hooker," she added.
The star's seminal fragrance is set to hit shelves next year. (ANI)

Lady Gaga and Thierry Mugler collaborate again
Lady Gaga and Parisian fashion house Thierry Mugler are at it again, and yep, you’ve guessed it, they’ve got another cool collaboration up their strangely kept sleeves.
Set to debut at Paris Fashion Week on Wednesday, Lady G – the brand’s musical director – will reveal her exclusive new track written especially for Nicola Formichetti and his autumn/winter 2011 womenswear collection. And to mark such a special occassion, Formichetti has released a short film, Anatomy of Change, to tease his way into unveiling his latest string of success.
The fashion film is only an introduction into what’s to come, but set to an eerie soundtrack and even creepier religious chants, the video montage is pretty much a naked, er, alien-like metallic woman hanging from the ceiling with ridged cheekbones and an obscure triangular head – all courtesy of designer Rein Vollenga, reports The Cut.
After seeing the label’s earlier Zombie Boy short film and hearing Gaga’s remixed Born This Way track for Mugler’s debut menswear collection in Paris last month, we’re expecting plenty of spiked cheekbones and nudity from these two when the full film airs.
